From the Complaint Department

I'm a firm believer in keeping up on current affairs, but I swear the more news I watch, the more irritated I get. I fail to understand how so many citizens of this country can have more common sense than the supposed highly educated leaders we have in office. Power, greed & money have completely consumed our governments at the local, state and federal levels. I don't believe this country will ever be what it was intended to be. It is a failed project. Though we have made tremendous progress in technology, equality, human rights etc., we are equally taking so many other things in the wrong direction. My gripe for the day: I'm sick of hearing about our country's deficit and talks of balancing the budget. I learned how to write checks and balance a checkbook in middle school.  It's not rocket science. You can't spend what you don't have, unless of course you're the government. Just borrow money from yourself right? I find it repulsive that our leaders can spend money they don't have and never pay it back, with no real consequences. Yet us citizens are held accountable for our actions and any loans we have. Their hypocrisy has no bounds. It's not like the deficit showed up secretly one night while we were all sleeping. It's been right there in our face all along. And now who will have to pay for all our leaders past and present recklessly spending the tax payers money? The tax payers of course. Well, I think I've complained enough for one day. I think I'll go get some sleep, while it's still free...
